WHAT IS MENIERE'S

MENIERE'S IS A DISEASE OF THE INNER EAR AND BELIEVED TO BE AN AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE. THERE IS A BUILD-UP OF FLUID CONTAINED IN A SAC IN YOUR INNER EAR. TYPICALLY, ONE EAR IS AFFECTED INITIALLY. SOME HAVE IT IN BOTH, BUT IS RARE. A PERSON WITH MENIERE'S HAS NO CONTROL OVER SYMPTOMS, THEY ARE SEVERE AND INCAPACITATING. THERE IS NO CURE. 

SYMPTOMS OF MENIERE'S

  • Vertigo, violent rotational episodes and rapid spinning. You cannot control your eyes.  They are popping and moving around very fast. 


  • Vomiting, because of the continuous rapid spinning you are vomiting during the entire episode. For some, every time you blink your eyes you vomit,  This can last anywhere from 20 minutes or for days.


  • Loss of Motor Skills, cannot walk, talk, or move, for some. Continuous vomiting and sweating the entire time of the episode. This can last anywhere from minutes, to hours, to days for some people.


  • Tinnitus ,various types of load, unbearable noise. This has been described as a roaring, screaming, or continuous hum.


  • Loss of Hearing, This is permanent for most.  Noise and fluid fill up your entire ear causing a sensation of ear fullness and heaviness.


  • Brain Fog, fractured thinking. You lose focus and the smallest task can be daunting. This can last days, weeks, or the rest of your life.


  • Drop Attacks, without warning you just drop to the ground as if you are passing out, but you are awake. You have no control of your body at this time. Many injuries happen this way, especially head injuries. All of these attacks are sudden. unpredictable and are very progressive.
